Bio
Jordan earned a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Oregon State University and later completed an MS in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. With over a decade of experience in compilers, Jordan has honed their expertise in creating both static and dynamic analysis tools, crafting solutions that push the boundaries of software development.
Jordan's experience spans a range of cutting-edge initiatives, including work on IARPA and DARPA-funded projects, where they tackled complex challenges in software development, security, and analysis. These high-profile efforts provided opportunities to develop advanced tools and techniques, further solidifying their expertise in the field.
As a Senior Research Engineer at Aarno Labs, Jordan has been instrumental in driving innovation across several key projects. Their expertise in Java has been pivotal in designing and developing advanced solutions, including extensive work on the Android platform. This work involved significant alterations to the Android Runtime (ART), core libraries, and OpenBinder—the foundation of Android’s Inter-Process Communication (IPC). These efforts led to the development of specialized tools for dynamic taint-tracking analysis, including ClearScope and Saran, which provided critical insights into data flow problems including the analysis of security vulnerabilities and malware within Android systems.
Before joining Aarno Labs, Jordan worked at Lockheed Martin, where they spearheaded the design and development of a specialized Integrated Development Environment (IDE) built on top of Eclipse. By developing a suite of Eclipse plugins tailored to internal needs, they created a robust and user-friendly environment that became widely adopted across the organization, streamlining development processes and improving productivity.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys composing music in their home studio and exploring the great outdoors with their dog on nature hikes. A multi-instrumentalist, they bring melodies to life with piano, guitar, and drums, often weaving intricate harmonies that mirror the structured beauty of musical expression.
